The Gualala Arts Center is proud to announce the winter 2025 staging of “Fiddler on the Roof,” a theatrical masterpiece that has enchanted audiences for decades. This heartwarming production, set to take place on February 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, and March 1, is a testament to the enduring legacy of the musical. This production is adapted from Sholem Aleichem’s “Tevye and his Daughters” and influenced by the iconic painting; “The Green Fiddler.”  by Marc Chagall. The show features a memorable score by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock, and a narrative crafted by Jerry Stein. The role of Tevye, the endearing milkman, was immortalized by Zero Mostel on Broadway, and the musical’s rich tapestry of songs like “If I Were a Rich Man”. With Zero Mostel originating the role on Broadway as the beloved Tevye, a Russian Jewish village milkman, Fiddler on the Roof has become a classic, boasting unforgettable melodies such as “Sunrise, Sunset and “Do You Love Me?”

Under the direction of Tony Salamone, with vocal leadership by Sue Bohlin, musical guidance by Don Krieger, and the collaborative choreography of Bryn Elizan Harris, this production promises to be a cultural highlight of the season. The community is invited to attend.
