A saxophonist, composer, arranger, educator, and self‑described “Sonic Scientist,” Collier is one of modern jazz’s most dynamic voices, collaborating with leading artists across generations and earning major honors including Chicagoan of the Year in Jazz (2024) and multiple DownBeat Rising Star awards. A proud AACM member and leader of the acclaimed ensemble The Chosen Few, he stands firmly within Chicago’s storied tenor sax tradition while pushing the music forward with visionary intensity. For this special tribute to Coltrane, Collier performs with Tim Regis on drums, Conway Campbell on bass, and Davis Whitfield on piano.
