Celebrate Mother’s Day with an uplifting afternoon of music as CoastSing, the coast’s community chorus directed and accompanied by Sue Bohlin, presents a heartfelt concert celebrating women and children on Sunday, May 10 at 4 pm. This annual favorite features songs about love, women, family, and children—offering a warm, joyful program perfect for honoring the mothers and grandmothers in your life.

The concert will include pieces inspired by centuries‑old traditions and contemporary favorites alike. Audiences will hear stories behind the music, including the symbolic meanings of herbs in “parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme,” – these were the main ingredients to a love potion that was wildly popular in the middle ages.  You will also enjoy songs by Graham Nash and Joni Mitchell, written during their 1969 romance. It’s an afternoon filled with musical “secrets” and surprises, shared in CoastSing’s signature spirit of community and connection.

Tickets are $20 in advance, +$5 day of and are available at the Dolphin Gallery, Gualala Arts and online at GualalaArts.org. $150 Sponsor Tickets with Select Seating are available online only.

About Director Sue Bohlin

A published composer, Sue recently shifted her focus to the Mendonoma coast, embracing its beauty and quieter pace. In addition to directing CoastSing, she serves on the Board of Directors at the Gualala Arts Center, plays piano for Shepherd by the Sea church, participates in the music production for local theater productions, and teaches voice and piano. Bob continues to conduct his professional choir Volti, the SF Choral Society, and Piedmont Choirs’ Ancora. The couple divides their time between their home in Anchor Bay and their liveaboard boat in Sausalito.
