Donnalynn Chase, Perry Hoffman,Tom Colson and Robyn Cota Cann, the show features more than 700 pieces of art mailed from countries around the globe, as well as over 300 postcards from local students.
An opening reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Dolphin Gallery, located in the Seacliff Center at 39140 Highway One, on October 4. During the last week of the exhibit, October 19 through the 26, all the art will be available to be taken for free. The exhibit ends on October 26 at the Dolphin.
A closing party will take place at WhiteCap November 9, from 10 am to 1 pm located at 35509 Highway One. In the spirit of mail art being available to everyone, all the mail art there can be taken home for free at the closing party.
The exhibit features charming, often whimsical postcards and other objects of art created by artists of all ages and backgrounds. Each piece is a small act of generosity, designed to uplift and connect. There are almost 30 countries represented as well as 18 states. Countries represented include Germany, Uruguay, Belarus, Malaysia, France, Czechia, Italy, Japan, and Spain—proof that kindness knows no borders.
Along with the exhibit, a book of over 100 pieces of mail art will be available for sale. The profit from the book will benefit Gualala Arts and WhiteCap Coffee and Tea. These photographs are included in the KINDNESS mail art book.
