The Dolphin Gallery in the Seacliff Center is thrilled to present “What Women Do,” a new exhibit by the talented figurative painter Carol Golden. The exhibit opens on Saturday, March 1 from 1-3 pm and will be on display through March 30.
As a woman and a figurative painter, Carol Golden’s work reflects a “what women do” approach to life’s activities: dancing, practicing the violin, applying lipstick and nail polish, carrying a purse, whispering, loving a horse, and vacuuming. Her past careers include teaching art in public schools and adult artists’ painting workshops in the U.S. and abroad. The years she spent as an award-winning Creative Director for national advertising campaigns – TV and print – have fueled swarms of visions from marketing focus groups. She quit advertising after working on a campaign for cigarettes targeting women smokers.
From life experiences then and now, Carol’s intent is to create a visual palette of what and how women relate to each other and to the world around them. Her work showcases women at work and play, highlighting the love they give with a profound sense of compassion – a spirit that’s strongly female. The pieces displayed in this exhibit will reflect her current and past six years living on the North Coast of California near the Gualala River.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the depth and beauty of Carol Golden’s artistic expression at the Dolphin Gallery. Join us for the opening reception and immerse yourself in the world of “What Women Do.”
