SCHOLARSHIPS 2026

Scholarships are available to graduating seniors who live in the region served by Gualala Arts, from Fort Ross to Elk. Students who are active in the arts and plan to continue their studies in art or design are encouraged to apply. Art and design are defined broadly and may include painting, drawing, sculpture, music, ceramics, jewelry, theater, dance, writing, film, photography, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, fashion design, and other related fields.
In past years, scholarships from $500 to $3,000 have been awarded to select students pursuing careers in the arts.
ELIGIBILITY
- Graduating high school senior
- Resident of Gualala Arts Center region (from Fort Ross to Elk)
- Strong motivation, demonstrated abilities and interest in art/design
- Commitment to enroll in an appropriate school, college or university for art or design studies

Your application must be typed, concise, focused, and complete to be considered. Please be aware that the Scholarship Committee will want to see clear evidence of your commitment to a career in art or design as indicated by your choice of institution(s) for further study and the courses or program in which you will enroll. If you are a finalist, the Gualala Arts Scholarship Committee will interview you at a time and place to be arranged in May. If you are selected as a finalist, be prepared to bring to your portfolio, or other suitable examples of your work. Awards will be announced by the end of May.

PAYMENT POLICY
Gualala Arts Young Artists Scholarships are for two out of four consecutive academic terms, commencing with the term following High School graduation, payable in two equal payments upon submission to Gualala Arts by the scholarship recipient of evidence of registration and enrollment in classes, courses, or programs in the recipient’s field, or fields of art.
