The Gualala Arts Chamber Music Series will present a special summer concert featuring pianist Amy Zanrosso and cellist Evan Kahn on Sunday, July 5 at 4 p.m. at the Gualala Arts Center. Tickets are $35 in advance and +$5 on the day of the concert, available at Gualala Arts, the Dolphin Gallery, and online at GualalaArts.org.

Zanrosso, known for her expressive and commanding musicianship, began piano studies at age six and committed to a life in music by her mid‑teens. She has since built a wide‑ranging career as a soloist and chamber musician, appearing with orchestras including the Santa Rosa Symphony, Symphony of the Kootenays, Russian Chamber Orchestra, Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra, Symphony of the Redwoods, and the Kensington Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing, she teaches at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Pre‑College Academy and at The Nueva School in Hillsborough.

Cellist Evan Kahn, praised for his “electrifying” and “nuanced” playing, brings an equally distinguished résumé. He serves as principal cellist of the New Century Chamber Orchestra, Opera San Jose, and the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and has previously held principal positions with the San Francisco Opera and Symphony San Jose. Kahn has performed with major ensembles including The Cleveland Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, and the San Francisco Symphony. A dedicated advocate for contemporary music, he has commissioned and premiered more than 70 works and is active with Bay Area new‑music ensembles Ninth Planet and After Everything.

Kahn holds a master’s degree in chamber music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Beyond performing, he enjoys teaching, tabletop role‑playing games, British television, and time with his two cats Nyx and Zagreus.
