Members of the Pointless Sisters Art Quilt Group are weaving together a vibrant tribute to the Golden State in their upcoming themed exhibit, MyCalifornia. This collective showcase features newly created fiber art quilts inspired by the rich contrasts and natural beauty found across California’s diverse landscapes.
For this exhibit, Pointless Sisters invited our members to create fiber art pieces highlighting the incredible diversity of the Golden State. California is home to Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the “lower 48”, and the Badwater Basin, the lowest elevation in all of North America. From sunny beaches to snow-capped peaks, from deserts to rich farmlands, sleepy rural hamlets to bustling urban sprawl, heavy industry to arts and entertainment, California has it all. The individual works in this exhibit represent each artist’s unique perception of our remarkable State of California.
Each quilt reflects a unique interpretation of place, rendered through a variety of fiber art techniques that highlight the group’s creativity and craftsmanship. The result is a compelling visual journey through California’s ecological and cultural tapestry.
The MyCalifornia exhibit promises to be a celebration of both artistry and place—an invitation to see the state through the eyes of its artists, one stitch at a time.
“The Pointless Sisters Art Quilt Group strives to create an encouraging and non-competitive space for its members to develop skills while exploring their own individual journeys as artists. The Pointless Sisters, individually and together, are committed to bringing art quilting to the community.”
