On Sunday, December 28th at 2 p.m., the Gualala Arts Center will host an extraordinary musical event featuring two internationally acclaimed artists: cellist Angela Park and violinist David McCarroll. Presented by Gualala Arts, the Starcross Benefit Concert promises to be a moving afternoon of music and goodwill, supporting projects through the Starcross Community.
Tickets are $100 in advance and $105 on the day of the concert. They are available at Gualala Arts, the Dolphin Gallery, and online at GualalaArts.org.
Angela Park, a celebrated soloist and chamber musician, has performed with world-renowned ensembles including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, and Helsinki Baroque. Her global career has taken her to leading festivals such as Marlboro and Verbier, and she remains committed to advancing the music of living composers while continuing her work as a baroque specialist. A graduate of Curtis Institute of Music, the Universität der Künste Berlin and of New England Conservatory, Park currently teaches at Carnegie Mellon University.
An Annapolis native, David McCarroll has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages—from Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw to Carnegie Hall—collaborating with luminaries such as Mitsuko Uchida and Kim Kashkashian. Beyond his artistry, he is deeply committed to humanitarian causes, supporting peace and AIDS relief efforts through music.
In 2021, McCarroll was appointed concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra after a seven-year search by music director Manfred Honeck. His solos in Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony at Carnegie Hall were praised for their sensitivity and deep awareness of the orchestra’s dramatic interpretation.
Together, Angela Park and David McCarroll will bring their artistry and compassion to the Gualala stage. This is a rare opportunity to hear two of classical music’s finest talents in an intimate coastal setting—while supporting a vital cause.
