Games of all types are an integral part of our lives. From card games and ball games to games of chance and interpersonal games, they permeate our daily activities. Many games are played by professionals, while others are enjoyed as social activities. Families gather to play games, and many people on the coast participate in various games. People also spend countless hours watching games, paying significant sums for tickets to attend, and we are raised playing games from the time we can play peek-a-boo.

Given that games are such a fundamental part of our lives, wouldn’t it be wonderful to capture some of the ways games impact us through art? Here are some examples of what we might see submitted to the show:

  • A felted or ceramic piece of sports equipment, such as a pickleball
  • A repurposed piece of equipment, like a tennis racket turned into a mirror
  • A painting of cats playing poker
  • A depiction of a relationship ruined because of “game playing”
  • Photographs of athletes
  • A board game in 3D
  • Kids’ games, mind games, and more—the list is endless.
