Acting Workshop

$75 for GA Members, $105 for Non Members, sign up at GualalaArts.org or the Gualala Arts Front Desk by December 4

Gualala Arts will host a scene-study acting workshop focused on character development on Sunday, Dec. 7, from one to four p.m. at the Gualala Arts Center.
Titled “Information. Insight. Inspiration.,” the three-hour workshop invites participants to explore how to build layered, authentic characters using published scripts and open scenes. The session will guide actors through script analysis, emotional connection, and inventive embodiment techniques designed to deepen performance and storytelling.

Led by veteran theater educator and director Cathy Cassetta, the workshop emphasizes a hands-on, collaborative approach. “This is not about ‘acting’ the character—it’s about being the character,” says Cassetta. Participants will learn to uncover key details in the text, connect personally to the material, and bring their own voice and presence to the stage.
Cassetta brings decades of experience to the program, having taught theater across all age groups and directed more than 100 productions ranging from amateur to professional. In 2000, she founded The Tabard Theatre Company in Silicon Valley, serving as its artistic director for 20 years.
The workshop is open to all experience levels. Registration is $75 for Gualala Arts members and $105 for non-members. Registration closes on Dec. 4 sign up at GualalaArts.org or in person at the Gualala Arts front desk.

Please note: cancellations are subject to a $35 fee, and no refunds will be issued after the registration deadline on Dec 1
