Holiday Concert for the Coast

The beloved Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers will take the stage for their annual Holiday Concert for the Coast on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Gualala Arts Center. This festive performance, under the direction of Jeanne Jackson, promises to deliver an afternoon filled with timeless holiday classics, a stunning mix of bells, and vocal harmonies, all designed to bring warmth and cheer to the season.  The bell ringers will be joined by vocalists Sita Milchev and Bryn Harris; instrumentalists Karl Young and Eliot Kallen.

Tickets are $25 in advance for general admission, and $5 more on the day of the event. Tickets are available for purchase at Gualala Arts, Dolphin Gallery, and online at GualalaArts.org.  Children 17 and under are free with a paying adult.

1. Angel Tidings based on tunes Mendelssohn and Gloria, arranged by Cynthia Dobrinski.

2. White Christmas by Irving Berlin. Solo by Sita Milchev, Paul Brancato on piano.

3. Winter Wonderland by Felix Bernard, arranged by Martha Lynn Thompson. All sing led by Linda Bostwick and Judi Johnson

4. Christmas Bell Suite based on the tunes I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, Ding! Dong! Merrily on High and King Glocken, arranged by John Behnke

5. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blanke, arranged by Douglas E Wagner. Shakuhachi duet by Karl Young and Elliot Kallen.

6. Amazing Grace, New Britain, arranged by Jason W. Krug. Played by the sextet of Kim Mitchell, Catherine Miller, Steven Mitchell, Jeanne Jackson, Tree Mercer and Hal Ferguson.

7. The First Noel, Traditional English Carol and Johann Pachelbel’s Canon, arranged by Brenda Austin

8. Angels We Have Heard on High, Gloria a French carol. First verse sung by Mimi Dallas, Sita Milchev and Linda Bostwick. All sing verses two and three.

Intermission

9. Ave Maria by Franz Schubert, arranged by Boude Moore. Violin solo by Paul Brancato, bell trio of Catherine Miller, Hal Ferguson and Mel Smith.

10. Do You Hear What I Hear? by Noel Regney and Gloria Shayne, arranged by Douglas E. Wagner. Solo by Steven Mitchell

11. Deck the Halls with Blues and Boogie, an old Welsh air, arranged by Valerie W. Stephenson.

12. Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart by George Michael, arranged by Ron Mallory, solo by Bryn Harris

13. Mary, Did You Know by Mark Lowwry and Buddy Greene, arranged by Anna Laura Page, solo by Bryn Harris.

14. Silent Night by Franz Gruber. All Sing.

This concert is not only a celebration of the holiday season but also a showcase of the talents of the Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers, whose dedication to the art of handbell ringing and community spirit has made them a cherished part of the Gualala Arts’ music programming.
