The Gualala Arts Chamber Music Series continues this fall with a richly textured performance by Gut, Wind and Wire, coming to the Gualala Arts Center on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 4 p.m.

Formed by longtime members of the acclaimed Baltimore Consort—Mark Cudek, Ronn McFarlane, and Mindy Rosenfeld—this trio delves deep into the resonant worlds of Renaissance and folk traditions, infused with original compositions and performed on historical instruments. Their name pays homage to the very essence of their craft: gut strings, wire strings, and the breath that animates wind instruments.

Audiences can expect a soundscape born from the organic elements of maple, spruce, boxwood, rosewood, tulipwood, and blackwood—each channeled through cittern, lute, viola da gamba, riq, fifes, flutes, and even bagpipes. The trio’s collaboration spans more than forty years, and their musical kinship is palpable in every performance.

Advance tickets are $35, +$5 on the day of the event. They are available at Gualala Arts, the Dolphin Gallery, and online at GualalaArts.org.

Whether you’re a longtime lover of early music or simply curious about the sounds of centuries past, Gut, Wind and Wire promises an unforgettable afternoon of spirited, soulful artistry.
