The Dolphin Gallery will be hosting “KINDNESS mail art” a new open call exhibit. “Yes – make art and mail it. That is what mail art is.” Explains exhibit curator Donnalynn Chase. This open call is an open invitation to artists and art enthusiasts worldwide to participate in a unique mail art exhibit centered around the theme of “kindness.” The exhibit will open on October 4 from 1-3 p.m. and will run through October 26, 2025.
There is no cost to participate in this event, making it accessible to all who wish to share their creativity. The entry deadline for submissions is September 4, 2025. Simply create a piece of art and mail it to:
KINDNESS Mail Art, PO Box 384, Gualala, CA 95445
Mail art, a concept coined around 1960, is the practice of sending art through the postal service. There are no rules or guidelines, no galleries or judges involved; the only requirement is that the art must be mailed. This exhibit celebrates the joy and simplicity of mail art while promoting the universal theme of kindness.
“Artists of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate. We welcome all forms of art, including postcards, collages, drawings, paintings, and more. There is no limit to the number of pieces you can submit. The art will be displayed at both the Dolphin Gallery in Gualala and the WhiteCap Coffee & Tea in Anchor Bay.
We have already received submissions from around the globe, including Germany, Uruguay, Belarus, Malaysia, France, Czechia, Italy, Japan, Spain, and various states within the U.S. This exhibit aims to bring together a diverse network of mail artists, fostering a sense of community and shared creativity.” Says Chase
