GUALALA ARTS THEATER PRESENTS:
GODSPELL – WINTER 2026 PRODUCTION

We are thrilled to announce auditions and production dates for our upcoming production of Godspell, a vibrant, ensemble-driven musical based on the Gospel of Matthew. Through a series of parables, songs, and theatrical storytelling, the show explores timeless themes of compassion, community, and the choices we make in our daily lives.

Conceived and Originally Directed by JOHN-MICHAEL TEBELAK with Music and New Lyrics by STEPHEN SCHWARTZ; composer and lyricist of WICKED, this revival provides an updated twist to the original production done by the New York Stage by EDGAR LANSBURY / STUART DUNCAN / JOSEPH BERUH production.

This production will be highly collaborative and visually inventive, incorporating modern concepts, music, and staging to bring each parable to life in a fresh, engaging way. The ensemble cast will play an integral role in shaping the energy, style, and interpretation of each scene, making it a unique experience for both performers and audiences.

Performers will have the opportunity to sing, act, and participate in dynamic storytelling, with options for both full ensemble roles and the onstage pit chorus for those with limited time who still want to contribute vocally.

Directed and Staged by Tony Salamone with Musical Direction by Don Krieger and Sue Bohlin.
