Artists Erin Lee Gafill and Tom Birmingham will lead a two-day Paint Out Workshop at the picturesque Sea Ranch this April. This unique event is set to take place on the bluffs overlooking Black Point Cove, offering attendees a chance to capture the stunning coastal scenery through their artwork.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, April 16 and 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Participants have the flexibility to join both sessions or choose the one that best fits their schedule.
The paint out kicks off on the back deck of the Sea Ranch Lodge at 1:00 p.m. Erin Lee Gafill will begin with a demonstration in oil painting, followed by Tom Birmingham’s demo in watercolor. After the demonstrations, attendees will have three hours to paint and explore their creativity, surrounded by the breathtaking views of Black Point Cove.
As the sessions conclude, artists will regroup on the Lodge’s deck for a “Show and Tell” session, where they can share their work and engage in discussions about their experiences.
The workshop is a fundraiser for Gualala Arts, with a participation fee of $25 for GA members and $35 for non-members. Participating artists will need to bring their own plein air painting supplies, including paints, solvents (if needed), supports, brushes, and easels.
This event promises an enriching experience for artists of all levels, combining professional instruction with the inspiring natural beauty of the Sea Ranch bluffs.
