Illumination –- An exhibit of collage and assemblage – A Show of Light

Gualala Arts Collage Interest Group

a special showing

Opens Friday, June 14 from 4-6 pm, exhibit up through July 7, 2024

Gualala Arts Elaine Jacob Foyer

Free

The Gualala Arts Collage Interest Group will present what is possible with the diverse art of collage and assemblage. Just as there are many meanings to illumination, there are many creative approaches to the art form of collage.

Illumination provides light to show clarity and insight. It can be represented spiritually, as an universal sacred entity, or as a personal enlightenment and transformation. The intensity and subject of illumination will be represented by each participating artist in their individual or collaborative art piece. The focus of these art pieces can range from the very personal to the collective unconsciousness; from the Illumination of the middle ages to today’s pop culture.

The art of assemblage and collage is the integration of seemingly unrelated materials to create a new whole. This exhibit promises to be inspiring and nurturing to the viewer, as well as providing insight into the art of collage and practitioners of our local collage group.

This exhibit is only open to Gualala Arts Collage Interest Group members.
