About Director Sue Bohlin
In October 2023, shortly before celebrating 23 years of marriage, musical couple Sue Bohlin and Bob Geary were entered into the United States Congressional Record by Representative Barbara Lee of California’s 12 district for “exemplary service in the field of choral music”. Both have received “Founders” awards from the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir after 4 decades of leading the group to international recognition. Maestro Geary is the 2023 winner of two prestigious awards from Chorus America. A published composer, Sue recently quit driving back and forth to her Bay Area music gigs, and prefers the scenic beauty and gentle nature of all things on the coast. Besides directing CoastSing, Sue currently helps out the music program in the Pt. Arena School District, plays piano for the Shepherd of the Sea, and teaches voice and piano privately. Mr. Geary currently conducts his professional choir, Volti, plus the SF Choral Society, and Piedmont Choir’s Ancora. Sue and Bob share their time between their house in Anchor Bay and a boat in Sausalito.
