Gualala Arts presents a Holiday Concert Saturday, December 17, featuring the Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers. This special Saturday afternoon music event begins at 2:00 p.m. in Coleman Hall. A community favorite, the annual concert by the Bell Ringers always gets the audience into the holiday spirit. Tickets are available at Gualala Arts, the Dolphin Gallery and online at EventBrite.com, and are $15.00 in advance and $5 more the day of the concert. Ages 7-17 will be admitted free.

This concert is sure to put everyone in the holiday mood. Songs such as “Angel Tidings,” “Carol of the Bells,” and “Star of Wonder,” will be performed by twelve ringers on four and a half octaves of bells under the direction of conductor Jeanne Jackson. Vocalists Sita Milchev and Teo Ariola will join the ringers, Sita will sing the lovely “Mary, Did You Know?” and Teo will bring a smile with his rendition of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” There will be community sing-alongs led by Remi Alexander, including “Winter Wonderland,” “Do You Hear What I Here?” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.”

It’s the tradition of the bell group to end their holiday concert with “Silent Night.” The audience will be invited to join in singing this popular Christmas carol which will be conducted by Cinnamon Rippey. On the third verse the ringers put their bells down and come around the tables to join the audience, creating a moving conclusion of the concert.
