CoastSing performs Friday, December 17 at 3pm, The Broke Trio is set to play on Saturday at 1 pm, and Chris Doering & Karl Young perform Sunday at 3 pm. All three performances are free.
On Friday, December 17, CoastSing presents live music with “Rainy Days And Holidays”, a concert event set for Friday, December 17 at 3:00 p.m. According to the group’s director, Sue Bohlin, “Rainy Days and Holidays” will include “some of our favorites songs from the past.”
The performance will include an old rollicking Irish tune, “Christmas Comes But Once a Year”, and a beautiful arrangement of “Sim Shalom (Grant Us Peace)” to celebrate Hanukkah. The group will also perform some popular tunes, not necessarily associated with the Christmas holidays, but songs that are nevertheless a joy to hear: “California Dreamin’”, written by John Phillips and Michelle Phillips, and made famous in the 1965 recording by the Mamas & Papas; and the Stephen Stills’ song “Helplessly Hoping”, released by Crosby, Stills, Nash in 1968. Also scheduled for the Friday afternoon concert is “It’s Raining,” and a vocal student of Sue Bohlin, 8 year old Rayce, will sing “Ben”, a song by Michael Jackson. Another special moment will come when the group performs one of the most beautiful chants about nature, “Naturaleza,” which will be sung in Spanish.
On Saturday, the 18th, the Broke Trio will perform, beginning at 1 pm. A perfect time to enjoy live music while visiting Gualala Arts.
On Sunday, the 19th, Chris Doering and Karl Young will bring their amazing talents to Gualala Arts, for a musical backdrop to all of the holiday magic at Gualala Arts. They’ll begin at 3 pm.
Come for one, two or all three performances.
