A Voice Class for Teens
Registration is now available online.
Gloria Wood works with many teens in the Bay Area. Many of them are actively performing in (or auditioning for) shows in their various high schools. A number of her students also perform in adult productions of Broadway shows in Marin, which require a multi-generational cast and many have been accepted to summer musical theatre programs outside of California as well as ACT’s Youth Conservatory in San Francisco.
Each of Gloria’s students gets a strong background in vocal technique, and she picks songs for them which are not only fun to perform, but gives them an opportunity to practice what they’re learning technically. She has an extensive performance background, so this class will give each student the opportunity to get onstage and have the fun of acting their song – whether as a solo character – or as part of an ensemble number.
Gloria would appreciate it if class members, who have cellphones, would bring them to the class to record the songs and exercises she gives them. She’s also a pianist and will play their accompaniments.
There will be a sliding scale, in terms of the fee for this class. Gloria does not want to exclude any student because of financial circumstances.
