Dear Donors and Friends of Gualala Arts,
I wrote in March to advise that the Chamber Music’s Donor Appreciation Program on May 17 at Gualala Arts was postponed. It is now cancelled.
I’m also sorry to have to inform you that our annual Roy Bogas and Friends Summer Concert Week-End in July is now cancelled. Although all of us were looking forward to this wonderful weekend of music-making, the ongoing coronavirus situation makes it clear we cannot proceed. We are taking this step in the interest of continued good health for the performers, you our audience, Gualala Arts and other support staff, and the general public.
We appreciate more than ever your support of the Chamber Music program and of Gualala Arts. The COVID-19 impact on non-profits, including public arts organizations like ours, will be significant. Closures and cancellations, which of course protect us all, unfortunately also cut into our financial base. Like anyone managing a household budget, we still have fixed costs to meet.
But there’s some good news from the CARES Act passed by Congress. Individual cash donations in 2020 will be tax-deductible on your Federal income tax, whether you itemize or not. See your financial advisor or consult a trusted source like Kiplinger’s or Nolo.
Thank you for being here to support us!
Fingers crossed, Chamber Music at Gualala Arts hopes to be back for the 2020-2021 season. In May, we will send you a letter by US Mail with the proposed 2020-2021 program. We have lined up many exciting concerts to enjoy together as soon as it is safe to be in large groups.
