Biography: Diane Miller
I began quilting with a hand quilting class in the mid 1970’s. I continued my quilting journey a little here and there throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, while pursuing a career in real estate, graduating college at St. Mary’s, and then working as a paralegal.
In 1999 I decided to get serious about quilting. I purchased a Bernina sewing machine and started taking classes. In 2000 my husband and I moved to El Dorado Hills from the Eastbay where I began working as a real estate escrow coordinator. During that time I also began taking quilting classes at Quilters’ Comer in Sacramento where I have been employed since 2008. I make shop samples and teach classes, i.e. Love Birds, and a started group called the Downunder Wanabes.
I have always loved colorful textiles and love playing and experimenting with patterns and designs.
Thanks to Kathy Doughty and her class “Love Birds”, I have been enthralled with her and other Australian designers.
Kathy encouraged me to teach the class and I can’t stop wanting to make all her designs/patterns. I just love them all.
