Learn to start drawing on your iPad in this weekend course. This course will walk you through the basic functions of a program called “Procreate” for the iPad. We’ll do a simple demo and then practice drawing simple still life. If time permits, we’ll go over notes on where you can take your artwork to get printed.

Some drawing/painting skills would be nice, but not required.

Instructor bio

During the summer of 2014, Audrey started to use her iPad as an additional form of artistic expression. Prior to that, her main painting medium was acrylic on large canvas and pastels on paper. She discovered that drawing on the iPad satisfied her creative outlet. She grew to love drawing on the iPad, especially due to its portability and lack of clean-up required after every painting session.

Audrey derives her artistic inspiration from native wildlife in California, the Pacific Coast, architecture, typography and her Japanese heritage.

Audrey Takeshta has formally studied art at San Francisco City College, SF Art Academy, UCSC Extensions and San Jose State University, where she received her degree in Graphic Design and Illustration.

Audrey has worked at various small advertising and graphic design studios in the Bay Area. During the past 25 years, Audrey has also worked at many high-tech companies, including Oracle, Adobe and PayPal.

Six years ago, Audrey and her family relocated their lives away from the busy fast-paced Silicon Valley and moved to Santa Cruz. She is currently employed as Marketing Coordinator for the Santa Cruz Art League. You can see more of Audrey’s work at:
