The Arctic Refuge

Drew McCalley is a veteran of fourteen expeditions to this remarkable Arctic treasure, He will describe what it is, how it came to be a refuge, its wildlife and botanical features and values, and the urgency of the current campaign to protect it from oil development.  McCalley will illustrate his remarks with his own photographs and share personal experiences of the special rewards and challenges of backpacking in the Arctic.
