Gualala Arts invites you to the 31st Annual Wine Tasting & Auction in conjunction with the Soroptimist International of Mendocino-Sonoma Coast 31st Annual Architectural Tour to be held on Friday and Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, May 8 & 9, 2015.

Wine Tasting & Auction

The Wine Tasting & Auction will be hosted at the Gualala Arts Center, which is an architectural gem nestled in the redwoods with a dramatic auditorium and foyer where the tasting and silent auction is held. This is the premier wine event on the Sonoma / Mendocino coast, featuring 25 award winning wineries pouring a wide selection of their premium wines. Over 40 wine related auction lots will be available for your silent bidding both days of the event, with the winning bids being announced at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 (need not be present to win).

This special Friday night Korbel California Champagne Preview of the auction lots is free with advance registration at Brown Paper Tickets or by showing your Architectural Tour ticket ($5 at the door without advance registration or Tour ticket). Guests get first chance to bid on the auction lots, or make a list of the ones they will want to bid on at the Saturday Wine Tasting & Auction.

Tour the Celebration of Home art exhibit in the Elaine Jacob Foyer, which is sponsored by The Sea Ranch 50th Anniversary Committee, and The Portrait Project art exhibit in the Burnett Gallery while you enjoy your champagne.

The Saturday Wine Tasting & Auction is the finale to the 31st Annual Architectural Tour that features an extraordinary and diverse offering of homes that trace the evolution of the North Coast Style from the creations of the original architects to the current modern ‘green’ representations of “living lightly on the land.”

Many local wineries and businesses have donated premium auction lots such as bottles of award-winning wines, wine related gifts, luxurious lodging packages, golf, kayak tours and other great items. Make what you hope will be winning bids on your favorites, knowing that the proceeds will help promote public interest and participation in the arts. You will also be able to preview our showcase raffle prizes.

The Wine Tasting & Auction begins on Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. at the Gualala Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased for $25 in advance for this event, or $5 more the day of the event. You can also use your Architectural Tour ticket as entry to the tasting.

Wine Tasting & AuctionThe elegance of the Gualala Arts Center has been the location for the wine tasting and auction since 1999. Last year Gualala Arts took this event to new heights, ensuring that it the premier wine event on the North Coast. You will enjoy a wide variety of outstanding wines being poured by 25 premium northern California wineries, accompanied by a delicious menu of thoughtfully paired food donated by local businesses and carefully selected to complement the wines.

Browse the silent auction lots that feature an impressive array of award-winning wines from 40 northern California wineries, gift certificates and other wine related adventures. Purchase raffle tickets to win the showcase raffle prizes.

Enjoy the beautifully landscaped and art filled grounds of the Arts Center while you sip your wine. Top off your day by making winning bids on auction lots that will help enhance your wine collection, or give you a new adventure to look forward to.

Raffle

You will also be able to purchase raffle tickets to win the showcase prizes worth over $3,700. This year’s prizes include:

  • Very special 2 night stay at the Parducci Winery in Ukiah. Includes 1 bottle each of Parducci 2013 Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Value $1,250.
  • Original 24″ x 24″ oil on canvas painting, “Dwelling in May,” by Sonoma County artist Sandy Ostrau (below left). Value $1,800.
  • St. Orres Inn (below right) – 2 night stay in a classic and elegantly appointed
    St. Orres cabin, with breakfast each morning. Value $500.
  • Annapolis Winery – 12 bottles of various varietals, all signed by the winemaker. Value $340.

Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the Gualala Arts Center, Dolphin Gallery and Gualala Country Inn and will also be available during Friday’s Korbel California Champagne preview, at every home on the Architectural Tour and at Saturday’s Wine Tasting & Auction. Raffle tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50.

Ticket donations support Gualala Arts’ mission to promote public interest and participation in the arts. Wine Tasting & Auction only tickets (no Architectural Tour) cost $25 advance, $5 more day of event. For advance purchase, visit Brown Paper Tickets. To purchase in person, visit the Gualala Arts Center or Dolphin Gallery in Gualala.

Architectural Tour tickets, which include the Wine Tasting & Auction, may be purchased for $60 in advance by visiting Brown Paper Tickets. After May 1 tickets can purchased by cash or check at the Gualala Country Inn, 47975 Center Street, Gualala, CA 95445 (707) 884-4343. Tickets purchased on the day of the tour are $65 and will be available in front of the Stewarts Point Store and at the Gualala Arts Center.
