Slide show and talk about Dave Brubeck’s impact on 20th century western culture and all aspects of his legacy by Australian-born Simon Rowe.
In addition to being the Director of The Brubeck Institute, University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA, Rowe is an accomplished jazz pianist who will perform selected Brubeck compositions as part of this special evening.
Brubeck’s long-time bassist, Eugene Wright, the only living member of the famous quartet’s “Take Five” years, will speak to the audience via audio or Skype about the historic “Good Will Ambassador Tours” of the ’50s that spanned the globe.
