In addition to being the Director of The Brubeck Institute, University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA, Rowe is an accomplished jazz pianist who will perform selected Brubeck compositions as part of this special evening.

Brubeck’s long-time bassist, Eugene Wright, the only living member of the famous quartet’s “Take Five” years, will speak to the audience via audio or Skype about the historic “Good Will Ambassador Tours” of the ’50s that spanned the globe. Sponsored by the U.S. State Department, these tours introduced the uniquely American jazz sound to audiences around the globe.
