BAKU

BAKU is an improvisational ensemble comprised of local musicians dedicated to the art of spontaneous composition, combining contemplative, ambient structures and melodies with a strong yet relaxing rhythmic pulse. BAKU will be playing its unique and totally improvised Jafro-Fusion music which is a synthesis of jazz, Afro beat, Middle Eastern and other influences and rhythms.

BAKU was selected as the name of the ensemble to honor the capital of Azerbaijan, which marks the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe and its diverse cultural and musical influences.

BAKU is made up of the following musicians:

  • Harrison Goldberg – percussion accessories, tenor, alto and soprano saxophones
  • Chris Doering – guitar and guitar synthesizer
  • Tim Mueller – guitar
  • David French – electric upright bass
  • Nancy Feehan – cajon and percussion accessories

Join in this celebration of musical discovery as BAKU takes you on a surprising and unpredictable journey. The proceeds from this Global Harmony Series concert will benefit Gualala Arts’ mission to promote public interest and participation in the arts.

Tickets are $10 advance, $5 more day of performance and youth 17 and under are free with adult. For advance purchase, visit Brown Paper Tickets. To purchase in person, visit the Gualala Arts Center or Dolphin Gallery in Gualala.
