The Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers & Friends

in Concert

The Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers and friends will present a benefit concert for Coastal Seniors’ Meals on Wheels program on Sunday, June 9, 4 pm at the Gualala Arts Center. Four and a half octaves of English handbells, along with chimes, will ring on several ensemble pieces including “A Song of Love,” “Alleluia! Rejoice and Sing,” “My Heart Will Go On,” and the group’s signature piece, the haunting“Andante in F Minor.”

Singing is always part of this group. Vocalist Sita Milchev will join the bell ringers on “Moon River.” Remi Alexander will perform “Part of My World.” Linda Bostwick and Cinnamon Rippey will lead the audience sing-a-long on “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”

Local musicians will also join the bell ringers. Dan Laux on hammered dulcimer will join the ringers on “Londonderry Air.” Karl Young on shakuhachi, Japanese flute, will perform “For the Beauty of the Earth.” Mary Visher and Cyndy Solomon will place the flute duet on recorders on “Jig on an Appalachian Folk Melody.” The irrepressible Eric Kritz will join the bell ringers on clarinet on “The Pink Panther” and “The Entertainer.”

There is something for everyone in this program. Children are invited to attend at no cost if they have an accompanying adult. Ticket prices are $15.00 in advance, $20.00 day of. For further information, call Jeanne Jackson at 707 884-1761.
