Gualala Arts invites you to the 33rd Annual Wine Tasting & Auction in conjunction with the Soroptimist International of Mendocino-Sonoma Coast 33rd Annual Architectural Tour.

The Wine Tasting & Auction will be hosted at the Gualala Arts Center, an architectural gem nestled in the redwoods with a dramatic auditorium and foyer where the tasting and silent auction is held. This is the premier wine event on the Sonoma / Mendocino coast, featuring 20 award winning wineries pouring a wide selection of their premium wines. Over 100 wine related auction lots will be available for your silent bidding both days of the event.

Participating wines include Carol Shelton Wines, Flowers Vineyards & Winery, Frey Vineyards, Handley Cellars, Husch Vineyards, Wild Hog Vineyards, Woodenhead, Korbel Champagne Cellars, Red Car Winery, Gustafson Family Vineyard, Scharffenberger, Fort Ross Winery, Parducci, and Lazy Creek Vineyards, and more.

Admission to the Korbel Champagne Reception, Friday, May 12, 5 pm to 7 pm, is free and gives individuals a chance to not only taste fine Korbel champagnes, but to preview wine auction lots and place starting bids for the silent auction.  The latest exhibits will be on display, “Bodies of Work” featuring Sonoma artists Carolyne Singer and Sieglinde Fels and “Deep Time  An Art Odyssey” presented by artist Gretchen Butler, also of Sonoma.

Vacasa has donated a weekend stay at its premier 3-bedroom Sea Ranch vacation home “Bright Star” as the top raffle prize for this year’s event.  Vacasa maintains and services private vacation homes  in 14 states and four countries and plans expansion in the U.S. and abroad.

Artist Sandy Ostrau is again donating one of her paintings as a raffle item.  In her oil paintings, Sandy says, “In my work I strive to take a scene, a person or a landscape and condense it into a very direct and simplified statement. My goal is to strip away all of the superfluous detail and present each scenario in its essence. I try to reach a point where details are not important, and specifics don’t matter.”

Sandy divides her time between Palo Alto and the North Coast.

A wine basket with premium wines, gift certificates, and wine-related items worth upwards of $1,000 is the final item to be raffled off to a lucky winner!

Wine Tasting & Auction

The Saturday Wine Tasting & Auction is the finale to the 33rd Annual Architectural Tour that features an extraordinary and diverse offering of homes. Many local wineries and businesses donate premium auction lots such as bottles of award-winning wines, wine related gifts, luxurious lodging packages, golf packages, winery tours, and other great items. Make what you hope will be winning bids on your favorites, knowing that the proceeds will help promote public interest and participation in the arts.  Attend the Korbel Champagne Preview and place your bids early!

Wine Tasting & Auction

The Wine Tasting & Auction begins on Saturday, May 13 at 3 pm at the Gualala Arts Center. Tickets are $25 in advance for this event, plus $5 the day of the event. You can also use your Architectural Tour ticket as entry to the tasting.

The elegance of the Gualala Arts Center has been the location for the wine tasting and auction since 1999. Last year Gualala Arts took this event to new heights, ensuring that it the premier wine event on the North Coast. You will enjoy a wide variety of outstanding wines being poured by 25 premium northern California wineries, accompanied by a delicious menu of thoughtfully paired food donated by local businesses and carefully selected to complement the wines.

Browse the silent auction lots that feature an impressive array of award-winning wines from 40 northern California wineries, gift certificates and other wine related adventures. Purchase raffle tickets to win the showcase raffle prizes. Enjoy the beautifully landscaped and art filled grounds of the Arts Center while you sip your wine. Top off your day by making winning bids on auction lots that will help enhance your wine collection, or give you a new adventure to look forward to.
