If Kandinsky had made quilts they would have been singing magic! Discover that magic and feel the color and line in Kandinsky's work as you heighten the sensitivity of your new quilts. In studying the work of this influential painter's extraordinary lyrical abstract compositions, discover how you can learn from his use of abstract shapes, symbolic glowing color and expressive lines.

About the instructor

Kandinsky's Quilts, with Rosalie Dace Rosalie Dace is a full time quiltmaker whose work reflects her passion for color, pattern and texture. She has had a lifelong interest in textiles and embroidery and has a degree in Art and English. While she values the traditions from which our quiltmaking has come, she believes that a quilt should say something about its time and place in history. This and her awareness of being a South African artist give her work its particular character.

"My inspiration comes directly from the world around me and my life. I want to help my students feel excited by what they are able to do, and to develop a belief in their own abilities. Living in Durban, South Africa, gives me an exciting and colorful view of the world, which I hope to share with anyone seeing my work or coming to my classes."
