Woody Hansen's workshops will help you better understand how an artistically simplified approach to color, line, shape and value will have a liberating influence toward dramatically improving your work.

Beginner through advanced painter, whether you prefer to work from a plan, or allow your work to evolve, whether your interest is representational, abstract, semi-abstract, or non-objective, you'll find a positive, "No Bull" appreciative environment in which to exercise, clarify and improve critical thinking, reading and painting skills.

Woody Hansen, Brown Parkway Woody Hansen's watercolor workshops feature daily watercolor demonstrations, brief lectures, appreciative critiques, and time for plenty of hands-on practice, individual guidance, discussion, and participant questions. Workshops are challenging, enjoyable, informative, productive, and -where appropriate - humorous and fun. The demo, painting, and critique atmosphere are relaxed, friendly, and highly conducive to clearly learning the elements of a good painting and developing self-confidence.

Workshop content is adjusted daily to suit the personalized needs and interests of those in attendance. Beyond the basics such as design of the rectangle, shape, value, wet on dry, wet into wet, layering, calligraphy, etc., every workshop offers fresh material and different approaches each day. Woody will explain complex principles, elements, rules and guidelines, in a simple, easy to understand manner. He will help you avoid the photographic ideal, understand the differences between art and craft, while encouraging you to work toward a goal of artistic excellence.

Woody Hansen, Brown Parkway Bring an open mind and Woody will share with you the complexities, truths, misconceptions, and contradictions of watercolor, learned over 40 plus years of painting experience, You will leave this workshop with a better understanding of how simplicity and design can stimulate and inspire your artistic potential.
