Esther Munger - Paint, Drawings and Prints
I am always experimenting and learning. During the process of working on a piece I usually make a discovery. I do feel it is important to be personal with a work in progress, but I don't feel the need to have a particular style. When I discuss my work with others, the discovery continues because people consistently enhance my experience through their views and interpretations.
Creativity is challenging because it is not just something I do, it is, in some way my "I" - a part of me that I pull out and then put in the piece. The work itself then gives me something back that is often an additional challenge - though sometimes it is just a satisfying feeling.
My formal training was at Hunter College in New York City and at the University of California, Berkeley. I have taught students between the ages of 4 and 84. My drawings, prints and paintings are in private collections in Boston, New Hampshire and California.
