Needle Felting materials list |
Come and play and learn to sculpt with wool using a sharp barbed needle.
It is fun and there is no end to the creative possibilities.
In this class, you will learn some of the basics to get you started: the kind of wool to use, differences in felting needles, and many techniques that will allow you to begin to work on your own special creations.
All materials will be provided including Anne Einset Vickrey's small and very helpful book,
Needle Felting: Art Techniques and Projects, an assortment of colored wool, felting needles in a variety of sizes, and a foam pad. If you have any of these items and prefer to use your own, please call me to be sure that what you have will be appropriate for this class.
About the instructor
The opportunity to be creative and continually learn as I experiment with ideas and possibilities is what makes my art fun for me. It is always a new adventure.
When I am sculpting with wool I have the opportunity to bring to life a vision. Often, I may begin with an idea, but then as I work, I hear an inner voice that leads me in directions that are new and different. I am learning to listen to that voice and to flow with it.
There is something joyful and amazing about three-dimensional figures made of fleece. I create all of these for the pleasure it brings me and with a hope that others will find something that speaks to them.
