"Explore what it might mean to taste relaxation!"
Kum Nye can heal, balance, integrate and energize the whole of our being, opening channels of communication between head and heart, stomach and throat, hands and feet, and establishing contact with everything in space and time.
A natural healing method and an aid for deepening meditation, Kum Nye works with various methods, including breathing exercises, massage, postures involving both stillness and movement, mantra and visualization to stimulate the flow of feeling and energy in the body.
About the instructor
Els Gielens is an authorized Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga teacher who has studied and practiced daily for over 7 years under the guidance of Arnaud Maitland, a senior instructor in Tibetan Lama Tarthang Tulku's Kum Nye Lineage. Versed in the main texts of this rich, living lineage of teachings, including Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga, The Joy of Being, and most recently Kum Nye Dancing, Els presents Kum Nye in a gentle, down-to-Earth style appropriate for beginners and more advanced students. She is passionate about sharing the knowledge of relaxation and well-being conveyed in the Kum Nye tradition to all who may benefit from increased calmness, clarity, and wholeness in the midst of their busy lives.
Her practice began in the Netherlands and has continued here in the US where she studies with and teaches new students at Ratna Ling Retreat Center in Sonoma County. She also delivers classes for the general public across Sonoma County at venues in Sebastopol, Santa Rosa and Cazadero. She can also be spotted assisting with annual Kum Nye intensive retreats all over Europe and even delivering classes through video webinars as one of the Dharma Publishing Academy's online instructors. For more information see the
Kum Nye Yoga website.
