Scavenger Hunt Art Quilt materials |
Besides found objects, students will bring fabric that they LOVE, fusing material, maybe even using fabric glue, but they can do some sewing, as well. Students will learn the 4 most important principles of art so they can design their own unique piece of art long after this class is over. They may even leave this class seeing new possibilities in the over-looked items all around us. It just might be the ultimate recycling art class!
About the Instructor
Terry Waldron was introduced to quilting in 1993 when her tennis partner was going to miss the next 6 weeks of matches for a "quilting" class. When she asked her friend "what is quilting?," her friend replied, go to a quilt shop and see for yourself. She did and she was hooked. Along her quilting path several quilting teachers have given her the OK to create in fabric beyond the quarter inch seam allowance. She loves teaching (was honored with the title of Secondary Teacher of the year in her school district) and she loves teaching quilt classes.
She has been featured on Alex Anderson's "Simply Quilts." Her work is in several books and she has been the lead judge for the Hoffman Challenge. It is the face-to-face teaching that she loves best.
So join us for a Scavenger Hunt on March 15, 2012 at Gualala Arts Center and come back on the 16th to the guild's meeting, where she will be the featured speaker.
