This digital photography workshop explores the creative aspects of
photography on field trips to beautiful and inspiring locations along the
rugged Northern California coast in and around Gualala.
Our week includes daily discussions, thoughtful critiques of the previous
day's work, and slide shows on creative and technical aspects of digital
photography. In the field, emphasis is on one-on-one instruction
exploring each participant's creative vision through light, color and
composition. Back in the classroom, emphasis is on learning an efficient
workflow for downloading, editing, and processing your digital images in
Photoshop.
For advanced beginners to competent amateurs. A good working knowledge of
your digital camera, laptop computer, and basic digital workflow is required
(Photoshop Elements or CSII). Ideally, participants should bring a digital
camera that can be taken out of automatic mode and with which they are
familiar (digital SLR is best) and should also know how to download digital
photos into their laptop computer and move, sort, and re-name in the
browser.
