Art Center Theater is proud to announce the cast for their July production of Thornton Wilder's famous play, Our Town. With roles for twenty performers, this mainstay of American Theater almost requires a small town to stage it!
The first character to appear on stage is Mike Turner as the Stage Manager. He will show us around Grover's Corner, New Hampshire and introduce us to its many endearing citizens. There is Joe Crowell, the newspaper boy, played by Gavin Malik, and his brother Si played by Henry Power; Howie Newsome, the milkman portrayed by Alethia Davies; Simon Stimson, the choirmaster, performed by Dard Hunter; Mrs. Louella Soames, the town gossip, acted by Sabina Walla; the constable and the esteemed professor, both played by Jim Riley. Josephina Stoddard, the visitor in the graveyard, will be Claire McPherson. Then there are folks in the town who have no names - Janet Guess and Kit Bliss Jones will help them come to life.
Our Town revolves around the lives of two prominent families. The Gibbs family consists of Dr. Frank Gibbs and his wife Julia, played by Jim Littlejohn and Saundra Brewer and their children Rebecca and George, acted by Joselyn Malik and Jon Carlo. Charles Webb, the editor of the town newspaper and his wife Myrtle are performed by Sam Parsons and Amanda Woodward, and their two daughters, Molly and Emily are played by Shayla Buechner and Olivia Harrison. The Webb and Gibbs families are neighbors, giving true meaning to those old clichés about love and the "boy next door."
Buy your tickets early and prepare yourself for a magical evening as this talented troupe of players touch your heart! Our Town opens with a
Gala Champagne Celebration
