The Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers will present their holiday concert on Saturday, December 3rd at 3:00 p.m. They will be joined by Karl Young on shakuhachi, Eric Kritz on clarinet and the Redwood Tree-O, a vocal group that consists of vocalists Sita Milchev, Sabina Walla and Cassy Grossman.
The eighteen bell ringers will perform ensemble ringing on pieces such as "Christmas Jubilation," "Angel Tidings" and "Sing We Now of Christmas."
Singing is a big part of our bell ringers' repertoire. A highlight is sure to be "O Holy Night" sung by Sita Milchev. Another feature will be "A Yuletide Sampler," a medley of five Christmas carols. Each song will be sung by a different ringer - Bill Halderman, Rachel Kritz, Suzanne Kritz, Elise Allen and Remi Alexander.
The audience will be invited to sing along with the bells on "Do You Hear What I Hear?" "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Silent Night.
Karl Young will join the bell ringers on a lovely rendition of "Amazing Grace." The shakuhachi, Japanese bamboo flute, sounds particularly beautiful with the bells.
The Tree-O will perform "Angels We Have Heard on High" with the bell choir playing chimes. Then they will perform a three piece set with piano accompaniment, which will include "Breath of Heaven."
This concert is sure to help you get in the holiday spirit. Come join the Bell Ringers and their musical guests for their annual holiday concert.
Tickets are $10 advance, $5 more on the day of the performance. Youth 7 to 17 free.
