Lecture Series presents:
Investing For Income
A Researcher's Findings
with Doug Le Du
Monday, October 17, 2011, 7:00 p.m.
Admission is $5
In today's uncertain financial world, when the safest investments are unproductive, retirees interested in generating a reasonable return without unnecessary risk will find Doug K. Le Du's talk on Monday, October 17 quite profitable.
Not a stockbroker, Le Du does not sell any type of investment or provide advice. He's an investment researcher who relies on statistical evaluation and computer models and who has reached the conclusion that preferred stocks can offer an attractive alternative for those who want to put their retirement nest egg to work earning income.
Years of research have led Le Du to the conclusion that preferred stocks can offer an attractive combination of income and protection from the fluctuations inherent in higher risk securities. He'll discuss the differences among bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, certificates of deposit and common stocks, and explain why preferred stocks are particularly well suited for the income-oriented investor.
Le Du delivers his message in plain English understandable to any audience without spending time on high-risk schemes that are too complicated and unsuitable for the average investor. He'll cover the ten criteria, originally published in 2006, that he uses to identify those preferred stocks that maximize returns while minimizing risk.
These are the ten criteria that saved preferred stock investors during the global credit crisis, screening out the preferred stocks from the big banks that failed while identifying the exact preferred stocks from the big banks that survived, a 100% success rate in 70 out of 70 cases.
A Sea Ranch resident, Le Du focused on investment research after a successful 26-year career in management consulting. His book, Preferred Stock Investing, now in its third edition, shows how a non-expert individual can attain respectable annual returns with acceptable risk.
The talk begins at 7:00 p.m. at Gualala Arts Center. A $5 admission fee will be collected at the door.
