Series presents "It's a Wonder TV Gets Made," a talk by Emmy-nominated
writer and director David Moessinger
On
Monday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m., get an inside look at the creation of
primetime dramatic shows-a process that is far more complex and
pressure-driven than one might imagine. Focus will be on the organization
of a production staff-then the numerous and diverse steps required to
produce just one hour of nightly entertainment. Often the task seems
impossible. David Moessinger has had a long and illustrious career in the
television industry, wearing the hats of writer, director, and producer.
He was Executive Producer
on many popular and acclaimed series, including Walker, Texas Ranger,
Murder, She Wrote, In the Heat of the Night, Jake and the Fatman, Simon
and Simon, Blue Thunder, and Quincy, M.E.
As an
Emmy-nominated writer and director, he worked on such shows as Eight is
Enough, Father Dowling, Knots Landing, Kung Fu, Wild, Wild West, Serpico,
Kraft Suspense Theater, Mission Imposssible, Police Woman, and
Police Story.
Mr.
Moessinger also wrote the motion picture Number One, starring
Charlton Heston.
He
graduated from DePauw University in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
He then served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps before
beginning his career in television. Mr. Moessinger is now retired and
lives in northern California with his wife.
