(co-leaders), Tommy Kesecker and Herb Gibson, vibes, Josh Workman, guitar, Eric Golub, violin, Buca Necak, bass, and Akira Tana, drums will perform the rich and gorgeous compositions associated with the MJQ.
For over four decades since the 1950's, the elegant MJQ reigned supreme in the jazz world, filling major concert halls around the globe. All of its members, John Lewis, piano, Milt Jackson, vibes, Percy Heath, bass and Connie Kay, drums, are now deceased. They ranked, along with the Duke Ellington and Count Basie Orchestras, the Dave Brubeck Quartet, and the Miles Davis, Stan Getz, and Louis Armstrong groups, as one of the most successful jazz ensembles for performances and record sales in history.
