5th Annual
Gualala Arts Auto Show
Saturday, July 20, 2013
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
at the Gualala Arts Center
If you are a car enthusiast and love the nostalgia of old cars, the sound and fury of dragsters, the art of hot rods, customs and modifieds, looking at original cars you lusted after in your youth, and/or rare and unusual contemporary automobiles, you'll love the Gualala Arts Auto Show.
Located on the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Gualala Arts Center, this is a car show you can actually stroll through, talk to the owners and appreciate each car, truck or motorcycle for the piece of art it is. The event celebrates its 5th anniversary this year, and we expect it to be the best Gualala Arts Auto Show yet.
Best of Show in 2012 was awarded to Jon & Teresa Olivieri for their matched set of 2003 Harley Davidson Road King Classic motorcycles. Paul & Vivian Johnson took the coveted Terrace Award with their beautifully finished 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe. 19 trophies and plaques in 11 classes and 19 Judges and Other Awards were presented to the winners among the 63 entries.
This year there will be 13 classes plus display only. Entries include the oldies, the very creative and some great new entries you might not have seen. There is even a prize for longest distance traveled as people come from all over California, and even last year from as far as Hawaii, to enjoy the sparkling ocean drive set off by the majesty of the redwood forests. This Auto Show was extremely well received last year and once again auto buffs will fill Highway 1 for the run to Gualala.
This free to the public show opens Saturday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m. for the public and closes at 4:00 p.m. Continental breakfast will be available for purchase on the Gualala Arts Center grounds from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m., lunch will be available for purchase from 11:00 a.m. to close and beverages (wine, beer, soft) are available all day. The awards ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m.

The Hampshire Brothers
This year the Gualala Arts Auto Show is proud to honor Ronnie and Gerald "Jeep" Hampshire as this year's Auto Show featured guests. The Hampshire Brothers have spent a lifetime in the racing world, building and racing a stunning variety of dragsters. They have been popular participants in every Gualala Arts Auto Show since the inaugural show, and delight the crowds on both Nitro Friday at Bones Roadhouse and at the Auto Show on Saturday by firing up their Top Fuel dragsters. As always, the Hampshire Brothers will donate "seat time" as raffle prizes, giving the winners the chance to suit up and sit in the dragster when it is fired up. Gualala Arts thanks the Hampshire Brothers for their long and enthusiastic participation in the Auto Show, it wouldn't be the same without them!
Nitromethane Thunder & Drive In Car Show
Friday at Bones Roadhouse
Start enjoying the Auto Show early by coming to Bones Roadhouse, 39080 Highway 1, on Friday, July 19 starting at 4:00 p.m. for the Drive In Car Show in the parking lot. Get there early and enjoy food, beer, wine, altered spirits or soft drinks while you check out the dragsters and other great cars, trucks and motorcycles in the parking lot. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Top Fuel dragsters lighting up the night when Nitromethane Thunder roars at 9:00 p.m. "Bone Daddy" has invited the Les Filles Rouges Burlesque troupe, Fire Dancers and the Bud Girls to round out the show. Buy raffle tickets from the ladies for a chance to sit in the driver's seat and fire up one of the dragsters (proceeds benefit Meals on Wheels). No charge to attend this great event.
