The Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers will present their annual holiday concert on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. They will be joined by Karl Young on shakuhachi, Eric Kritz on clarinet, Don Krieger on piano and the Redwood Tree-O.

Ernest Bloch Bell Ringers: Jeanne Jackson, Linda Bostwick, Remi Alexander, Jim Iversen, Rachel Kritz, Michael Alexander, Claire Skilton, Bill Halderman, Irene Leidner, Gail Thompson, Sue Hansen, Eric Kritz, Suzanne Kritz, Karl Young

The bell ringers will perform ensemble ringing on such pieces as "Carol of the Bells," "An Evergreen Christmas" and "Angels Sang at Bethlehem."

Singing is a big part of our bell ringers' repertoire and the audience will be invited to sing along too. Remi Alexander will lead a community sing-along on "The Twelve Days of Christmas," Linda Bostwick and Rachel Kritz will lead "Winter Wonderland" and Suzanne Kritz will lead the audience in "Angels We Have Heard on High."

Young will join the bell ringers on the haunting "Star of Wonder." The shakuhachi, Japanese bamboo flute, sounds particularly beautiful with the bells.

The Redwood Tree-O, consisting of Sita Milchev, Cassy Grossman and Laurie Kreger, will perform "Prayer" from Hansel and Gretel, "Mary, Did You Know?" and "The Prayer will Lead Us, Lord." The Tree-O, singing in three part harmony, will be accompanied by Don Krieger on piano.

The concert ends with everyone invited to sing with the bells on "Silent Night."

And Santa is coming to the concert. He will be giving candy canes to kids of all ages.

Jeanne Jackson, Bell Director, says, "This concert is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Come join the Bell Ringers and their musical guests for our annual holiday concert."

Tickets are $10 in advance, $5 more day of performance. Children and youth are free and encouraged to attend. For advance purchase, visit Brown Paper Tickets or call them at 800-838-3006. To purchase in person, visit the Gualala Arts Center or Dolphin Gallery in Gualala.
