Annapolis Winery is a family-owned winery nestled on a sunny hilltop surrounded by the vineyards, orchards and vistas of redwood forests.

Annapolis Winery The winery's mission statement is, "To Secure Local Fruit Sources and Provide our Customers with the Essence of the Sonoma North Coast."

The aim is to allow the grapes' natural flavors to develop with as little intervention as possible by practicing natural farming techniques, using only organic fertilizers and no pesticides. All of the grapes are hand picked and carefully inspected. No fining agents are used. All their wines are made from locally grown wine grapes to create handcrafted, ultra-premium wines. Personal care and attention go into every bottle. What you taste in the bottle is what is grown in the fields. The vineyards were planted in 1978 and the winery built in 1987. Their wines continue to receive awards from a number of prestigious competitions.

The views from the winery are breathtaking, especially in the spring when the apple trees and wildflowers are in bloom. The Scalabrini family will be offering their wines by the bottle for sale as well as light refreshments in the tasting room. They encourage the audience to bring a picnic for enjoying at tables under the blossoms of the antique apple orchard bordering the winery tasting room. This, their fifth year as a Whale & Jazz venue, will take place on the final weekend of the month-long festival, just days away from Cinco de Mayo. They are thrilled to be hosting these amazing Latin musicians for this year's event.

Jazz Artists: Sang Matiz

Sang Matiz is a band from the San Francisco Bay Area that honors the gorgeous sounds of Flamenco and Latin America. The band has fused many elements of the traditional Rumba Flamenca along with South American rhythms, Bossa Nova, Reggae and Jazz to present a fresh new sound.

The name Sang Matiz is the combination of two words: Sang, meaning "blood" in French and Matiz, meaning "harmonious mixture" in Spanish, together meaning "blood mix," representing the different bloodlines of its musicians as well as their experiences in life and, most importantly, music. Above all, Sang Matiz is a cultural expression, an exciting new sound full of passion, energy, love and wild creativity.
