The Wharf Building has been home to several incarnations of restaurants, and participated in the 2004 Whale & Jazz Festival as the Arena Cove Bar & Grill.
The current restaurant, the Pier Chowder House & Tap Room, is operated by Wharf Building owners, John and Tracy DuPont, and was part of the 2010 Festival.
This year, bass player Greg D'Augelli returns with keyboardist, Terry Rodriguez.
The restaurant is a seafood house in a casual atmosphere with an awe-inspiring view of the lively activities at Arena Cove. Get the literal bird's eye view of the pier, the fishing boats and jagged cliffs plunging into the sea as you dine on fresh seafood, some caught locally that day, or enjoy entrees from the grill.
The Chowder House has an extensive wine list and 40 brews on tap. Every day finds colorful locals and visitors alike relaxing at the historic, 100-year-old bar or gazing at the Pacific on the deck. The Chowder House chef also competes in the Chowder & Jazz "Chowder Challenge." For Arena Cove & Jazz, a special menu will be offered at regular prices. Full bar, excellent selection of draft beers and micro-brews. MC/VI. Dining reservations recommended. (707) 882-3400
