The Sea Ranch Lodge Front Gallery will host an opening reception on Wednesday, September 26 for a new multi-artist exhibit.
Artists participating in this exhibit will be Karen Bowers with her colorful watercolors, Peggy Zink's always dramatic pastels, Arna Means will be showing her etchings and paintings. Jerry Erickson will show his metal sculpture, Cynthia Myers will have her beautiful art glass, and
Barry Semegran will show his woodworking.
Greg Hagin, Lodge general manager, came up with the idea of integrating the arts community along this part of the coast with the Sea Ranch Lodge.
The Sea Ranch Lodge is excited to be working with Gualala Arts and local artists in promoting the area as an arts destination.
Greg felt the front foyer area was perfect for art with its high ceilings and existing lighting system complimented with the natural lighting coming from the clearstory windows. Both table top and freestanding sculpture show very well in the area also. The Lodge has always had very successful solo exhibits in the Fireside room, so having this great new space is very appreciated by the arts community.
Jim Grenwelge and Bruce Jones will be co-curators for the coming exhibits and will be taking proposals for the future exhibits. At present their concept is to have multiple artists working in several media. If you would like to be a part of this exciting venue please send a proposal to Gualala Arts, PO Box 244, Gualala, CA, 95445 or bring your proposal to the Gualala Arts Center. Please include a CD with 300 dpi color images of your work.
