Gualala Arts is thrilled to be managing the newly created Front Gallery of the Sea Ranch Lodge. Artists participating in the September 2007
Studio Discovery Tour are showing examples of their work in the newly created space. Jim Grenwelge and Bruce Jones are co-curators of this exhibit and will be taking proposals for the future.
Greg Hagin, Lodge general manager, came up with the idea of integrating the arts community along this part of the coast with the Sea Ranch Lodge. The Sea Ranch Lodge is excited to be working with Gualala Arts and local artists in promoting the area as an arts destination. Greg felt the front foyer area was perfect for art with its high ceilings and existing lighting system complimented with the natural lighting coming from the clerestory windows. Both table top and freestanding sculpture show very well in the area also. The existing office space was changing, so this opened an opportunity for a wonderful new venue for artists. The Lodge has always had very successful solo exhibits in the Fireside Room, so having this great new space is very appreciated by the arts community.
Exhibitors for this first exhibit include Bill Apton, Ann Berger, Karen Bowers, Jennifer Bundey, Diane Cochran, Ruth Conley, Rita Crane, Dwight Eberly, Tom Eckles, Jan Fogel, Suzan Friedland, Mel Gerst, Cliff Glover, Bruce Jones, Barbara Kelley, Paul Kozal, Bill Lange, Jeani Martini, Jim Meilander, Esther Munger, Cynthia Myers, Ted Noble, Sandy Ostrau, Miriam Owen, Joan Rhine, Laura Rose, Susan Shaddick, Richard Skidmore, Sarah Waldron, Genevieve Wilson and Toni Wilson.
The fifteenth annual Studio Discovery Tour will be held Saturday through Monday, September 1, 2, & 3 plus Saturday and Sunday, September 8 & 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. More information about this North Coast Artists' Guild event is on the web at
