You be the Judge
Opening Reception: Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
Exhibit remains through January 31, 2010
Gualala Arts Center
We've paid a lot of judges and jurors over the years, and even found places for them to stay while they were up here doing their job. Two years ago at "Art in the Redwoods," artist Barry Semegran asked Executive Director David Susalla why we keep paying art judges when we may have among the highest concentration of artists per capita anywhere. Why not ask this local talent and visitors to judge the exhibit? So we are trying it!
Gualala Arts will host an exhibit called "You Be the Judge" from Saturday, January 9th through Sunday, January 31, 2010. The viewing public will have the opportunity to vote for their five favorites. Voting will begin at the opening reception Saturday, January 9, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The voting will close Monday, January 18 at noon, when the results will be tallied and awards ($300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place and $100 for 3rd place) will be announced and ribbons hung for all to see until the end of the exhibit. We promise there will be great discussions about "art" going on during this opening!
