Burnett Gallery
Sharon Nickodem and Marion Patterson will curate a photographic exhibit in the Burnett Gallery that is intended to challenge the usual photographic exhibit experience. This will NOT be your ordinary photo show! Let's start with a definition of "alternatives:"
- offering or expressing a choice
- different from the usual or conventional, as in existing or functioning outside the established cultural system.
This show is open to professional and amateur artists who wish to create art using experimental or alternative photographic methods. This exhibit is also open to a wide range of subjects, including adult subject matter. Some anticipated art pieces include the use of:
- Infrared photography
- Hand painting
- Polaroid Image and Emulsion Transfers©
- Digital Transfer
- Fabric
- Night photography
- Self-publishing
- 3 dimensional & Collage techniques
To enter this exhibit, artists should prepare and submit a proposal no later than May 31st. The curators will review the proposals and invite the artists whose proposals best fit the "Alternatives" concept. Information for the proposal is in the

Gualala Arts Center is located
at 46501 Old State Highway in Gualala, and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays,
